Blog about something that you believe in

Although it is just a word I have to say that I for one believe in freedom. I think that we as Americans should all believe in this word and that actions that it brings with it I believe that we should fight to keep our freedom and to not let others attack it. One of the virtues of being an American is the right to do things without fear of being persecuted by your government, in my opinion this is freedom. Going into Iraq was a good decision on the Presidents part because we were doing it in order to both keep our freedom and to give people who could not fight for their own freedom the opportunity to obtain it. I will admit that once in Iraq the former President did make mistakes but I also must say I truly believe that we should be their helping others gain the freedoms that we as Americans love and enjoy everyday.

  1. As much as i'd like to not disagree with you and go political, I must. Freedom is a virtue, but it's neglected in our very country on a daily basis so what grants us the right to show others the right way to live? Our society is just as imperfect as many others, only our imperfections aren't as noticeable as butchering the general population. Iraq did not directly threaten us in any way. Saddam was an ass hole, this is true, but he got knocked down a peg in Desert Storm and left alone. He merely represented an idea we disliked. Although we once supported him, he was a man who ruled his country with an iron fist as a minority over the majority. He was cruel and a jerk, but he did not threaten our freedom. While the first Desert Storm is a far more justifiable war and cause, i agree with the fact that he should have been removed from power, but the circumstances and actions around our involvement are too complicated and tainted to be justifiable.
