Superbowl

This years superbowl commercials were not as funny, in my opinion, as last years superbowl commercials. However, they all continued to show the same few themes. The first of these themes is that almost all of the commercials before, during, and right after the game seem to be completely directed toward men. We addressed this in class and of course it came true.  I found that the commercials related to beer were more directed toward men which makes sense because everyone knows that many men love to watch the game and drink beer. It is one of the common ideas of our society. The second major theme was the success story which we also talked about in class. This was in many of the commercials during the superbowl because it is about winning and beating out the other team. Obviously this is a major theme during the superbowl because the superbowl is in fact a sports game. I was not very impressed with the commercials during this years game and I felt like they were not nearly as funny, let alone original, as the previous superbowl games.
