The Bias of language, The Bias of pictures

This essay was similar to what we have discussed in class in that it discussed how important writing is when attempting to make a point. According to the essay writing is more important than pictures because it can convey exactly what you are attempting to say. The essay also mentions how important it is for you to be clear in what you are saying. This is true because if you can not clearly get your point across then it can be misrepresented. 

I thought that one of the most interesting points that the article made regarded the 1st basic idea. This idea talked about how turned around someone's words can actually get. It also said to be careful not to accept and completely believe what you see on the news stations because in most cases what is being said and represented is not the "absolute truth". In class we have discussed truth and that made it interesting to here this perspective on the subject. 

The article also brought up a lot of new ideas. One of the largest new perspectives on language involved the relationship of reading/writing with video/pictures. This was an incredibly interesting aspect of the essay because instead of the "a picture is worth a thousand words" the article stated " words are worth a thousand pictures". I thought this was an interesting view and I began to believe it because words can impact a person and represent a clearer view in the long run.
